Description

This Bluebeard‘s Castle is a love story.

In this reimagined performance, originated by the Theatre of Sound in London, UK, Judith and Bluebeard are in love. Judith has dementia that is progressing. As they open the chest (open the doors), Judith unlocks memories, including women throughout the piece, which are, in fact, memories of her past self.

Dive into the emotionally charged world of Bluebeard’s Castle; this award-winning contemporary production with a new libretto by Daisy Evans and new arrangement by Stephen Higgins. Sung in English, the opera explores themes of pain and dementia, while also beautifully capturing the essence of love and commitment. It’s a journey beyond the ordinary, unveiling complexities of human heart and mind. Directed by Daisy Evans and conducted by Simon Rivard.

Please note: Youth for Free tickets are limited to 2 per household.
